dr hab. Garry Robson, prof UJ.

Garry Robson otrzymał tytuł doktora (z socjologii) w Goldsmiths College na Uniwersytecie Londyńskim w 1998 r. Następnie przez cztery lata uczył i prowadził badania w Anglii (Goldsmiths College, University of East London). Do Polski przyjechał w 2002 r. Wykłada przedmioty z zakresu: socjologii i kulturoznawstwa na polskich uniwersytetach, głównie w Krakowie. Obecnie jest profesorem nadzwyczajnym w Instytucie Studiów Amerykańskich i Diaspory Polskiej, UJ, prowadzącym kursy magisterskie na temat globalizacji, kulturoznawstwa, metod badawczych, socjologii sportu i kultury afroamerykańskiej ekspresji w międzynarodowym programie MA in Transatlantic Studies.

Zainteresowania badawcze:

  • Globalizacja i zmiany społeczne / kulturowe; 
  • Socjolingwistyka (języka angielskiego); 
  • Kultura cyfrowa w zachodnich demokracjach; 
  • Kultura popularna we współczesnej Wielkiej Brytanii i USA; 
  • Sport, klasa społeczna i organicyzm.
