We cordially invite you to an expert panel on Challenges and Opportunities of Polish Migration Policy. The discussion will feature representatives of the academy - Dr. Karolina Czerska-Shaw (Jagiellonian University), public institutions - Irmina Czysnok (Department for Foreigners, Malopolska Provincial Office), social activists - Nastya Podorozhnya ("Martynka") and persons with migration experience.

dr Karolina Czerska-Shaw – PhD in social sciences (sociology) from the Jagiellonian University (2016). Her research interests include migration, theories and practices of migrant integration, transnationalism, citizenship and the construction of collective identities. Her empirical studies have focused on the analysis of citizenship testing schemes for immigrants, as well as the social implications of super-mobility amongst highly skilled transnational young adults. She has been a visiting lecturer at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, as well as Strasbourg University in France. She has contributed to projects on migrant integration and authored several academic articles about British, French and Canadian citizenship testing schemes, issues of multiculturalism and approaches to migrant integration. She is a member of the Education Ecosystem team within the ID.UJ. initiative at the Jagiellonian University, the JU representative of the teaching and learning cluster with the UNA university alliance, and a member of the Faculty Council.

Nastya Podorozhnya – a Ukrainian human rights advocate, moved to Poland at 17. With a degree in Education and Cultural Anthropology, she studied sex education. Amid Ukraine’s crisis, she founded “Martynka” in Poland, aiding migrants and refugees with legal, psychological, and reproductive support. “Martynka” empowered 8 women to open cases against abusers, conducted hundreds of consultations, and handled 700+ Telegram requests in its first year. Sex educator, human rights activist. Founder of Martynka, a refugee-led female rights hotline.

Wydarzenie można zaliczyć w ramach programu OSA:

  • Forma zaliczenia: sporządzenie krótkiej notatki w języku angielskim lub polskim (max. 500-600 znaków), przedstawiającej główne zagadnienia omawiane podczas spotkania i przesłanie jej dr Joannie Kulpińskiej - notatki należy przesłać najpóźniej 2 tygodnie po spotkaniu.
W pierwszej kolejności wydarzenie kierowane jest do studentów migracji, ale mogą w nim uczestniczyć również studenci innych kierunków.
