Open guest lecture: María Eugenia Cruset

The lecture will focus on the principles of migration policies and nationalism throughout the history of Argentina.

María Eugenia Cruset is Master in International Relations from the National University of La Plata and Doctor in History from the University of the Basque Country (summa cum laude). She is a professor at the National University of La Plata and Catholic University of La Plata, and a researcher at the National University of La Pampa in Argentina. She is the author and editor of several books and specialty articles. She directed the center of History of International Relations of the Institute of International Relations (IRI) of the University of La Plata and directs the Free Chair of Irish thought and culture of the same university; she is also a member of the management of the Association of Southern Irish Studies (AEIS). She has participated as a coordinator in numerous conferences in Europe and America; and has lectured in Argentina, Germany, Chile, Brazil, the United States, Uruguay, Mexico, Canada, Ireland, Slovakia and Spain. She has received scholarships from the German Agency for Cooperation and the University of Reno in Nevada, United States. She is a member of scientific evaluation committees and scientific publishers in America and Europe. Her research areas include transnational migrations, nationalism and peace processes.
