While the European Union rightly condemns racism, critics claim it is failing to tackle discrimination and hate speech directed towards its large Roma population.
Join our event as our panel discuss what the EU is doing to address racism directed towards Roma communities, and race-related exclusion within its borders.
The EU’s failing policies towards its Roma population is a much underdiscussed topic in modern day international relations. In this discussion, Romeo Franz MEP will talk in depth about his experiences as a Roma activist and his ongoing work towards EU policy reform at the European Parliament. Mr Franz will be joined by discussant Dr Angela Kozce (CEU) and the event is chaired by Dr Jennifer Jackson-Preece (LSE).
