The Latin American Studies Library is an independent unit of the Polish Associaton for Latin American Studies (PTSL). Founded in 1984 as the Centre for Documentation and Information of PTSL, it has been operating as the PTSL library under its present name since 1998. Currently, with its extensive collection, it supports Latin American studies at the Jagiellonian University.

The library's collection spans the entire spectrum of Latin American research, ranging from archeology and ethnography to history, international relations and Earth science. It is now the largest library in Poland specializing in Latin America. Its collection consists of c. 8000 volumes, including more than 300 journals.

Apart from books and journals, the library also holds large collections of photographs (about 2000), maps, archival materials on the research into Latin America in Poland, videos, CDs. The electronic publishing division is also systematically developed. A reading room, online and card catalogs as well as photocopying services are available for users.
