Agnieszka Małek, Ph.D.

 

Agnieszka Małek holds M.A. and PhD (2009) degrees in sociology from the Jagiellonian University. She has received several scholarships and grants from the Lanckoronski Foundation (Centro Studi Emigrazione and Biblioteca Nazionale, Rome 2016); the Society-Environment-Technology program of the Jagiellonian University (Scuola Estiva di Sociologia delle Migrazioni, Centro Studi Medì, Genova 2015); the Jagiellonian University’s Faculty of International and Political Studies grants for young scholars (research grant - National Library and Centro Studi Emigrazione, Rome; book project); and the Huygens Research Scholarship (Radboud University in Nijmegen 2004). From June 2009 to September 2010, she served as a member of the Expert Committee on Return Migration and Immigration at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights. In 2011-2016 and 2018-2020,Dr. Małek also served as a member of the Jagiellonian University’s Faculty of International and Political Studies Recruitment Committee (). She has been a member of the Committee for Migration Studies of the Polish Academy of Science (in 2015-2018 as well as 2019-2022).
