Marcin Gabryś, Ph.D.

Marcin Gabryś, Ph.D.

 

A one-time President of the Polish Association for Canadian Studies, Prof. Gabryś holds a Ph.D, in political science from the Jagiellonian University (2007), an M.A. in cultural studies with a minor in American Studies (Jagiellonian University, 2004), and an M.A. in political science with a minor in journalism (Jagiellonian University, 2001). He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Canadian-American Studies, Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA (2012), and Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Canadian Studies of the University of Ottawa, Canada (2012, 2011, 2004). In 2011 and 2012, he received research grants from the Department of Foreign Relations and International Trade. Meanwhile, in 2004 the International Council for Canadian Studies granted him a scholarship for graduate students, and in 2003, he received a library grant at the John F. Kennedy Institute, Freie Universität, Berlin. Prof. Gabryś was awarded the Polish Association for Canadian Studies MA Thesis Award for the 2001-2004 period. He is the webmaster of the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora (2004-2013).
