What is the admissions process?

The admission process for the American Studies 1st degree (studies in Polish) at the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora takes place through our Online Application System (IRK). More information on registration dates, rules and limits of admissions, and required documents can be found at irk.uj.edu.pl.

Who are the studies for?

Those interested in the North American region who want to gain knowledge of the diverse social, political, cultural, legal, and civilizational issues of the American continent.

What about the content?

During the three years of study you will become familiar with the history of North American countries, the specificities of the development of the USA and Canada, their culture and customs, migration processes and religious diversity, as well as issues of internal and external politics of individual countries. You will also have the opportunity to improve your language skills through participation in English language lectures.

After your studies?

Graduates of American Studies enter the labor market with solid knowledge and skills in understanding and interpreting politics, culture, business, and American societies. These are excellent studies for future journalists, diplomats, leaders, employees of social and cultural centers and the private sector. The studies prepare graduates to function in international, multicultural environments, providing a good basis for working in American companies.
