Dr. Mahama Tawat is a Visiting Scholar at the Jagiellonian Centre for Migration Studies and Institute of European Studies. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Malmö Institute for the Study of Migration, Diversity and Welfare, Malmö University, Sweden and the European Centre for Minority Issues in Flensburg, Germany. He received a PhD in comparative public policy  from the University of Otago in New Zealand and postgraduate degrees from Stockholm, Malmö and Dalarna Universities in Sweden. He specializes in migration policies in
Scandinavia and public management reforms, namely New Public Management, Good Governance and neo-Weberian bureaucracy in developed countries and the Global South.
