Two Decades of American Diplomacy

The Academic Circle of American Studies and Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora of the Jagiellonian University cordially invites you to the fourteenth edition of American Culture Days and the international student-doctoral scientific conference entitled "Two Decades of American Diplomacy." The event will take place on December 13-14, 2023 in the WSMiP building at Reymonta 4 in Kraków and will have a hybrid character.

The conference "Two Decades of American Diplomacy" will focus on a significant and highly influential aspect of American foreign policy. Over the past two decades, American diplomacy has become an integral part of shaping international relations and promoting the interests and values of the United States on the contemporary global stage. Through diplomatic actions the United States also takes up the challenge of the race of great powers.

American diplomacy plays a crucial role in maintaining global stability, supporting economic development, and advocating for democratic ideals. It is within the realm of U.S. diplomacy that strategic decisions regarding national security, trade negotiations, and other key aspects of foreign policy are made. In this context, our conference aims to provide a thorough understanding of why American diplomacy is so vital, both for the country itself and for the entire world.

During this event, we will discuss the challenges that the United States has faced over the past two decades and their implications for global international relations. We will also examine the role of diplomacy in building alliances, resolving conflicts, and promoting values such as human rights and freedom.

For those interested in actively participating in the conference, we encourage you to submit abstracts for presentations that should not exceed 15 minutes in length.

The discussed topics may include:
