Originated in 19th century fiction and brought to its perfect form by Alfred Histchcock, thriller became the main popular culture safety valve for WW2 and Cold War tensions. In this lecture, Michał Oleszczyk (University of Warsaw; SpoilerMaster Podcast) will give the outline of the history of the thriller and ask the question about the relevance of the genre for the world of today.
